TGIF

Buy or Borrow: Where do your books that you read come from? The bookstore? The library? Do you prefer to own a book, or have it on loan?

I'm one of those people who just has to have my own copy of a book. Even if I borrow a book from the library or a friend, nine times out of ten I end up with my own copy eventually... My family says I have a problem... I personally think it's awesome... ;-)
I'm also the type of person who hates putting creases in the binding of a book or dog-earing a page. I've always been obsessed with my books. I even used to "check them out" to my younger sister when I was in 5th grade (and used to make her pay fines if they were turned in late).
So, basically, I'm a book buying kind of gal. Yes, I spend a decent amount on them, but It allows me to destressify my life, offer up some great reccomendations to my eighth grade students, and I can re-read them anytime I like. :-)

What about you? Would you rather borrow or buy a book?

  1. I love buying my books. It's always something I don't think twice about, simply because I love owning my own :)

    1. I completely agree!! I've even bought double copies before because my students want to read certain books of mine... They don't tend to take very good care of them so I buy "classroom" copies. I ended up buying The Hunger Games Trilogy twice. lol

  2. Sounds like a profitable little scam to run on a little sister.

My parents made us share everything and shut up. Damn socialists.
