Shelf Candy Saturday (#3)

My Shelf Candy Saturday pick for this week is....

The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison
I was lucky enough to snag a copy of this book last weekend at ALA. I just happened to be walking by the Egmont table, looked over and saw two copies of this book left! I, of course, hurried over and snagged the copies for my friend Sarah and myself! I cannot wait to read it! This cover is so awesome! I love the plainness of it all and then the splash of red blood on the butterfly.

Expected Publication: February 14, 2012
Published by: Egmont USA

  1. I was looking at this book for a New Release post in February. It sounds really good. The whole hoarding thing intrigues me and seems like it may be a nice addition to the story line.
The Butterfly Clues is a great Shelf Candy Saturday pick. The cover is a reflection of the description and it most definitely pushes the eerie. Thanks for sharing it.

  2. I haven't seen this book yet so thank you for bringing it to attention. It is beautiful in its plainess but then you get the red blood color and it really draws your eye and makes think of the cover in a whole new way.

Aren't covers amazing? They can tell you so much about the book, and draw you into buying them! I'm a sucker for an awesome cover. Great pick. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi, Steph! Wow. That's certainly a very striking cover! It reminds me of a Roscharch test -- the type of psychological test where you look at random inkblots on a sheet of paper, and tell the psychologist or psychiatrist what image or images you think you see.

This is a disturbingly beautiful cover. Thanks for sharing it!! : )

  8. Great Shelf Candy - usually I associate butterflies with peaceful meadows and innocent children chasing after them, and then suddenly, splatters of blood and a title that suggest crime and mystery. Very nice.
