Book Tag

Book Tag!
Here's how to play:
1. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you in their post.
2. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
3. Tag 11 people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you've tagged them!
5. Include these rules and a link to the person who tagged you with your post.

I was lucky enough to be tagged by three awesome bloggers, Steph's Stacks, Annie in Wonderland and Reading Kelly. I was tagged a while ago but only now had enough time to sit down and write my answers! So, here goes nothing :)

Questions from Steph's Stacks:

1. What was the last book you've read that you couldn't put down? Fracture by Megan Miranda

2. How do you find time to post, network and keep up with your reading? I honestly have NO clue!! I have been so busy recently that the past two weeks I think I have been able to log onto my blog MAYBE twice.... it's been horrible!!! ahhh!!!

3. What memes do you participate in?
I do Teaser Tuesdays, WWW..., Feature Fridays, and Shelf Candy Saturdays :) All of them are so much fun!

4. Do you have any favorite book blogging networks you use to meet other bloggers or stay up to date on the latest trends? I mainly just use Twitter... :)

5. What book (being released this year) are you anticipating the most? INSURGENT! I cannot wait to read this book...!!! I also am extremely excited for the final novel in Sophie Jordan's Firelight series.

6. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation? Least fave? I really enjoyed "A Walk to Remember." I hated "Twilight" although, they have gotten much better with each movie... And I am eagerly awaiting "The Hunger Games" movie!!

7. How did you come up with your blog's design? Any websites, designers or tips for newbies? My friend Sarah helped me look around and I got it from thecutestblogontheblock.com

8. Speaking of newbies...what is the one tip you would give to a new book blogger?
Hang in there! It's tough to begin with, but it is so much fun! Also, participate in a few weekly meme's to get your blog name out there!

9. What social networking site do you find is bringing you the most interaction with your readership?
I would probably have to say twitter...
10. How prepared do you think you are for the Zombie Apocalypse? (Or the apocalypse of your choice :)

Amazingly so! Haha, what exactly are you supposed to do to prepare for this?? lol

Questions from Annie in Wonderland:
  1. Do you prefer literary (character-driven) or commercial (plot-driven) fiction? I would have to say commercial probably. As long as the plot line is good I'm usually pretty excited about it :)
  2. Do you like classic literature? (Bronte, Faulkner, Shakespeare etc.) If so, recommend one (1) for a modern reader who loves books but can’t seem to see the magic of the classics. I'm not a huge fan of classic literature but if I had to pick one I would have to go with Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
  3. I’ve got an (imaginary) teen here who hates reading and is going to fail school because of it. You get three shots at making them FALL IN LOVE with books. Which three (3) books do you choose? I love this question!!!!! It's really hard though.... I would have to pick The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Forgive my Fins by Tera Lynn Childs, and Divergent by Veronica Roth.
  4. What is your #1 pet peeve that many authors do (and you wish they didn’t)? Take forever to get out the rest of the series!!!! haha! I understand that it's a loooong process, but as a reader I'm usually very impatient to get my hands on the next book!
  5. Name your top reason for choosing whichever e-reader you have (i.e. Why Nook and not Kindle) OR your top reason for not owning an e-reader. I've got a Kindle. When I first chose my Kindle I got it because of the fact that it was like reading a newspaper. I liked that I wouldn't have to worry about eye strain or anything like that... Now I have a Kindle Fire which is basically a Nook but I love and am glad that I chose Amazon over Barnes and Noble... there are usually really great deals on books!
  6. You get to pick a boyfriend out of characters in books. Who’s the lucky man that gets brought to life from the pages just for you? Oh my gosh.... If only this could really happen! haha! umm.. tough one.... I would have to pick Adrian from Vampire Academy and Bloodlines but only if he will stop smoking.. haha :) If not, then I'd choose Will from Clockwork Prince.
  7. Which book character reminds you most of yourself? I couldn't think of a character so I asked my mom and she said Katniss from The Hunger Games. She told me this and I was like "why!?" When she explained her reasoning I was like, "okay.. I can see it now.." So, ways I am like Katniss Everdeen: I am fiercely loyal and I will fight to the death for those that I love. I am persistent and always rise to the occasion. I get upset whenever something happens that seems unfair. I also am extremely protective over my younger sister and I would do anything to keep her from getting hurt in any way, shape, or form.
  8. What inspired the name of your book blog? My name is Stephanie but it's long so I shortened it to Steph and I like books... so my friend was like, "What about Steph's Book Corner?" and I said BINGO! and it stuck :) haha
  9. Do you write stories of your own too? No... I'm no where near creative enough to be able to do something like that. I am so impressed with the people who are able to write and I wish I could too!
  10. What do you love most about your favorite genre? I love Young Adult Fantasy mainly because It is easy to become immersed in the world the author created. It is so different from mine that It is a nice vacation and stress reliever from my real life...
  11. What is a book that doesn’t exist but you would love to read? (And is there a particular author whom you would like to see write it?) Great question! But again... I'm not terribly creative so I can't think of a book idea right now but would love for it to be written by any of the following authors: Libba Bray, Suzanne Collins, Cassandra Clare, Tera Lynn Childs, or Richelle Mead

Questions from Reading Kelly:

  1. 1. Do you prefer to read one or multiple books at a time? A lot of times I end up with a couple of books being read at once... I have a book I read at school during homeroom, one I carry around with me in my purse and one I have on my kindle (or phone) to read when I forget my other books at home :) Usually I only get into one book at a time though. So, while I have started many at once, I will only really read one at a time... don't know if that made any sense at all! haha!
    2. Where do you keep all of your unread books- all together or scattered throughout your shelves?
I try to keep them separated but they usually end up all together!!
    3. Is there a book you wish you could unread, either because you disliked it so much or to read it again for the first time?
YES!! "The Lovely Bones"! Omg... I HATE that book... I really don't understand what is so great about reading a book where a young girl is killed and her killer is never caught.... everyone was so excited when it was made into a movie and I absolutely refuse to watch it... I don't care how great everyone says it is.... people said that about the book too... just saying..
    4. Do your book selections vary by season?
They don't.... I read mostly young adult and it is just whatever I happen to come across when I'm ready to read a new book..
    5. Who would you rather borrow a book from, a friend or the library?
I'm not a huge fan of borrowing books, mainly because I love to have my own copy, but if I had to choose, I'd say friend. If I borrow from a friend there is usually no late fee... haha!
    6. Do movies based on books make you want to read the original book? Yes! The book is ALWAYS better than the movie... a prime example of this for me is "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks.

    7. You just dropped your favorite, out of print book in the bathtub ruining it completely. What would you do?
Freak out! No joke.. haha! I would probably dive head first into the tub to grab it and then do everything I could to dry it out....
    8. What are you reading right now? What made you choose it? Are you enjoying it and would you recommend it?
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins. The cover is gorgeous and the synopsis sounded intriguing! I am loving it so far and am pretty sure it is going to be a book I highly recommend.
    9. Do you read the inside flaps that describe a book before or while reading it?
I do! A lot of times I'll get a few chapters in and be like, "what is going on..?" and I'll flip to the synopsis to remind myself... It drives me crazy if the book has reviews on it rather than a synopsis!
    10. What are the best and the worst books you have read recently?
Best Book: Fracture by Megan Miranda and worst would have to be: Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch. It wasn't awful but it wasn't extremely exciting....
    11. Do you prefer the beginnings of stories or the ends?
I would say the end... I always am upset at the end mainly because I am sad there isn't anything left to read or I have to wait until what seems like forever until the next book comes out... but I hate starting new books. It usually takes me a while to become lost in a book and until that happens I usually don't enjoy myself...

Okay, so It's my turn to tag 11 people and ask YOU questions! I look forward to reading your responses! (please leave a comment with a link to your answers. Thank you!!! )

    2. So, I finally answered your questions, sorry it took me so long. Oh, and I agree with what you say about preferring the endings to the beginnings. I'm just like you, I need some time to get into a new book.

  7. Great answers to all the questions! I'm interested to see what everyone's answers to your question #5 how many books you pack for vacation. I travel for a living and before I got my Nook it was so hard to figure out how many books I would need haha.
